Raccoon

Raccoons have been confused with spiders for centuries. Modern reasearch shows that they are in fact entirely different species.

Raccoons are cute, they have cute tails and cute boopable snouts. They eat trash and they are nice. Many languages have names for Raccoons, which describe them as either kinds of bears or rats, with a connotation of washing. The english word raccoon stems from indigenous languages.
